According to this legend, Kokopelli brings good fortune and prosperity to anyone who will listen to his songs. His flute announces his coming and, as he leaves, the crop is bountiful. Kokopelli is a positive divinity, adored by the Navajo, Hopi, Zuni and Anasazi Indians. Kokopelli is also a symbol of fertility, usually depicted as a humpbacked flute player (often with feathers or antenna-like protrusions on his head). Like most fertility deities, Kokopelli presides over both childbirth and agriculture.
