This collection was inspired by beautiful prehistoric
pottery taken from ruins in and around the Mimbres River
valley area of southwestern New Mexico. Over 7000 pieces of
this wonderful pottery, most produced between 1000-1150
A.D. have found their way into museums and private
collections. The Mimbres potters worked freehand, using
brushes made from the stiff pointed leaves of yucca plants.
The hair ties are for both men and women.
Head silversmith is Daniel Tapija, Jr., and is a master at
stamping and soldering.
Danny of Yavapai-Hualapai-Apache-Hopi heritage, lives on
the Yavapai Reservation in Arizona.
Gwynna Liles, Apache, heads up the buffing and finishing
job and with ten years of experience, she makes sure each
piece is polished to perfection.
