This piece is fashioned in the traditional coil method and low temperature fired using dung as the fuel. Pitch from the Pinion tree is melted down and used for the pottery glaze, resulting in also waterproofing the pot. The pottery is adorned with etching and painting of a Yei-bi-chei couple, a wedding basked and corn stalks on each side, representing life. This design looks like leather tooling.
